Stag Arms VRST is worth the wait!
Fit and finish of the assembled upper is superb. I completed the rifle with a Spikes lower I had in my safe and like the final result. I gave the rifle a 25 yard zero at an indoor range and then took to a all day outdoor carbine class for a more precise 50 yard zero. The gun ran flawlessly and I have about 600 rounds through it so far. The only issue I've had is when the bolt is closed it doesn't like to let a full PMAG seat unless I smack it in there pretty good. This was problematic when doing tactical reloads with a bolt closed and round in the chamber. I like the Hogue grip and bought this for the diamond head rail which is very comfortable. I ordered mine with the whole sight diamond head sights and like them a lot but ultimately put them on a different rifle as I had an extra set of the locking diamond head metal sights that I prefer. The gun seems more accurate than I am but I'm only shooting with a red dot (aimpoint pro) and using lake city 55 grn ammo. I added some QD points for my sling, a Odin Works hand stop, and swapped out the A2 flash hider for a yankee hill phantom flash hider but no other additions. I'll probably go with a smaller red dot sight like the MRO as I want my aimpoint pro on a different rifle. This rifle will be my new 3 gun rifle and replace the M4 config I've been using. All in all I am very impressed with my Stag Arms VRST rifle kit and will be buying more Stag items. The only thing I would like different about this rifle is to have a mid length gas system as an option but I like the reliability of the carbine length gas. Thanks Stag!
