Comment on ATF's Proposed Changes

Save the Brace....

The ATF has new proposed changes. This is the second proposed change in as many weeks. The proposed changes would impact those of us that have AR pistols. The ATF proposed a new score card to define pistols which would impact from 3 million to 7 million gun owners by their estimates. These changes would make up to 7 million of us to have an illegal firearm.

The proposed changes will cost you money or your firearm. The proposed changes leave little remedy for those of you who own an AR pistol with a brace. You would either have to pay to change your pistol into a rifle at a minimum length of 16 inches, destroy or turn in your firearm, or pay $200 for a tax stamp to make this a registered SBR.

These changes do not only impact the owners but the dealers. This could require those dealers that do not have an SOT to get one. If the dealer does not choose to get their SOT, they would have to follow the same modifications or destruction as the gun owner.

The comment period for this proposed change started yesterday and gives you 90 days to comment. Please take time to read and comment on these changes. Remember to be respectful and avoid foul language as the ATF will dismiss your comments if you do this. If you commented on this in December, you MUST comment AGAIN as they will not be taking those comments into consideration.

Keep Receiver's the Same!

On May 20th, the ATF set forth several proposed rule changes that could impede your 2nd Amendment rights. This includes new definitions of receivers, new requirements for serialized parts, and what could be interpreted as more power to the Director of the ATF. We ask that you take time to comment on this before the deadline of Aug 19, 2021, in effort to let the ATF to know your point of view on the overreach of their authority.

STOP CHIMPMAN

To further exasperate the issue President Biden has nominated David Chipman to be the Director of the ATF. Chipman is a gun control proponent and is currently employed as a lobbyist for a gun control group. He has advocated for banning AR style weapons, universal background checks, and instituting a national gun registry. In his senate hearing this week he stated, “With respect to the AR-15, I support a ban as has been presented in a senate bill and supported by the president.” Your senators must hear your opinion on this nomination and how the proposed ATF rule changes will limit your rights as a gun owner and the impact to your business as a dealer of firearms.
