I recently bought a Model 7 , I have read alot about the 6.8 SPC II cartridge so I was very curious how this would stack up to other AR form factors. After looking at several Models out there from DPMS to LWRC , I decided on Stag. It took me all of 3 rounds sent down range that I realized I made the right decision. I am no stranger to Stag products , I have a model 3 and Model 15 9.5 ". , so needless to say I had the bar set pretty high. I have a Vortex SPARCII red Dot sight mounted on it, and was able to site the weapon in minutes, with a handful rounds expended. I like the added punch of the 6.8 to the 5.56 , with the only drawback being the price of ammo. As for the Model 7 , I found it surprisingly light for the nomenclature and a surprisingly smooth trigger "out of the box". Since the 6.8 is essentially a .270 short , I decided to mount one of my Leopold 3x9 throw down scopes on it , to see how it would do at 200 yards. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised , being able to hold a 1.5 " grouping with 115 gr FMJ rounds. A little more familiarity with the weapon and I am sure that could tighten up. All in all , I highly reccommend the Model 7 for everything from ground hogs to beer cans , another excellent Stag product.
